Remember when?

Vince Carter Puts on a Show

The dunk contest was gone. The hype was no longer in the building since the days of Dominique Wilkins, Michael Jordan, and Spud Webb. Year after year poor performance after poor performance, the dunk contest lost its luster. That is until Air Canada threw his name in to the competition. The year was 2000, and for one night Vince Carter ruled the basketball world. Rumors of changing the dunk contest or getting rid of it all together were rumbling around the all star break. Vince Carter saved the dunk contest, one spectacular dunk after another.

Vince stole the show, and he stole it early. Windmills, elbow hangs, between the legs, 360, 2 handed free throw line, you name it he had it. The night was no longer a contest but a showcase of the amazing skills possessed by a single man from North Carolina.
